NMP, also known as 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone or N-Methylpyrrolidone, is a solvent used in a range of products. The average consumer is most likely to encounter NMP in paint strippers, although safer alternatives exist. NMP has been strongly associated with developmental effects, including abortion.
