1-Methyl-2-pyrrolidinone Introduction:

1-Methyl-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C5H9NO. It is a colorless, hygroscopic liquid with a faint odor. It is miscible with water and most organic solvents. NMP is used as a solvent in a variety of industrial and commercial applications, including paints, coatings, adhesives, inks, and cleaning agents. It is also used as a reaction medium in the production of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and polymers. NMP is toxic and can cause skin and eye irritation.
