1.4-Butanediol is a chemical. BDO is used in industry to make floor strippers, paint thinners and other solvent products. BDO is sometimes used in health products as a substitute for illegal substances such as gamma-lactone (GBL) and gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB). Unfortunately, 1,4-butanediol is just as dangerous as GBL and GHB. BDO has been used for muscle strength, obesity, insomnia, and to increase growth hormone production, but there is no good scientific evidence to support any use.

Poly Butylene Adipate-Co-Terephthalate is a thermoplastic biodegradable plastic. PBAT is a copolymer of butylene adipate and butylene terephthalate. PBAT has both the characteristics of PBA and PBT. PBAT has both good ductility and elongation at break, as well as Good heat resistance and impact performance; in addition, PBAT also has excellent biodegradability, which is very active in the research of biodegradable plastics and one of the best degradable materials for market applications.

Reppe chemistry was one of the first technologies to produce 1,4-butanediol from acetylene and formaldehyde.

Poly Butylene Adipate-Co-Terephthalate is a semi-crystalline polymer with a crystallization temperature of approximately 110°C and a melting point of approximately 130°C. PBAT has a density of 1.18 g/ml to 1.3 g/ml. PBAT has a crystallinity of approximately 30% and a Shore hardness of over 85. The processing performance of PBAT is very similar to LDPE and can be blown on LDPE processing equipment. PBAT can be blown on LDPE processing equipment.
